Aston Martin

BEAUTIFUL ORIGINS

Since the first Aston Martin was built over a hundred years ago, we've been skilled at creating beauty. Founded by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford in a small London workshop in 1913, Aston Martin has since grown into an internationally acclaimed luxury car brand.

Our love for beauty has always been our guiding principle. The coming together of Martin and Bamford at the origin of the company was the first expression of this principle.

Both of our founders were passionate and talented in machinery, power, engines and racing. They had a shared passion for cars; because their most vivid and memorable experience was with cars. Beauty moments. Moments they yearn to design, repeat, celebrate and share. This passion has driven them to build cars that are faster, more powerful, more exciting, more comfortable and more beautiful than before.

No wonder they named it Aston Martin after a single auto race in Buckinghamshire, England. He won by competing in the Aston Clinton Hill Climb with the car designed by Lionel Martin.

RACE HISTORY

From our earliest days, we have always believed that racing helps improve our cars. From our historic debut at the 1922 French Grand Prix to the DBR1's 24 Hours of LeMans in 1959 to the impressive DB4GT's Monza success, many of our favorite cars have performed at the highest competitive racing levels.

This is as true for our second century today as it is for our first century. From the stunning 2017 victory of the V8 Vantage GTE in the 24 Hours of LeMans GTE Pro Class to the technically advanced Valkyrie hypercar, we've continued to build innovative cars that have the beauty of competitive racing at their heart.

WORLDWIDE PRAISE

The influence of British industrialist David Brown, who took over the management between 1947 and 1972, cannot be underestimated. As Aston Martin has developed under his supervision, his contributions have made it one of the most remarkable periods in our glorious past. In a burst of dynamism, he began to revolutionize the company, expand its operations, buy the Lagonda brand, and introduce one after another iconic cars that continue to pound today.
